Super sleek website designed and produced for Communicate UK. Using Communicate’s corporate style and colours, I produced this site within a WordPress framework.

Communicate UK now have full control over their site, including the ability to add new pages and even add them to the main navigation bar! With regular updates on the portfolio section likely, this site needed to be easy to update. With a short tutorial my client was updating pages and galleries within a day!

One of the main things this site needed was to be able to easily add video which would display on all devices (iphone!!) with wordpress and custom youtube embedding, this was easily achieved. This site also has a really nice feature which records and displays the users recently viewed pages for easier navigation.

Black Prince have had a wordpress makeover!

The original Black Prince website was one of the last sites I built before I discovered the benefits of using WordPress.

With a better content management system, search function, news section, custom fonts, fancy box image handling and a general navigational tidy up, you can really see the benefits of upgrading to a wordpress system with this project.

The useful and easy to implement wordpress plugins have enabled me to easily install an instant chat feature to this site – allowing users to chat to a Black Prince representative instantly through the website.

Blogging Website Produced for Tony Goddard Executive Coaching.

Tony was looking predominately for better search engine results for his website. Previously I had produced a static html site for Tony’s Company but with not much content and little to no functionality, any further search engine optimisation was proving difficult.

Using wordpress I was able to build an entire new platform for Tony to sell his business. Turning the ‘resources’ section into a blog and a reorganisation of the main copy keeps all the content fresh and great for google. I was also able to tie in all of his social and business networks so the site works in tandem.

A large site packed full of features, and fully content managed by King Henry’s. I built this site into a wordpress framework based on flat visuals from Ammac Design. This site needed to have the ability for the client to be able to add new image galleries, download folders and news stories as well as being able to update certain areas of the site.

There are several administrators on this site, each with the ability to upload/edit certain pages.

With over 150 pages, this is the largest website I have produced to date.

Live Solar

Live Solar needed a website which they were going to be able to fill with content as the website grows. I was able to design and build the framework for this site while the content was still coming in.

This website also features a custom made wordpress plugin ‘my roof finder’ developed by Andy Charrington. This feature enables users to pinpoint their house via a postcode search, fill in their details and receive an accurate quote for their solar installation. In the background, a snapshot image and a direct google maps link allows my client to measure the users roof and determine whether the user is eligible for a solar panel installation.

Built from flat visuals designed by Razor Design. With little content and Myriad typography throughout, SEO was going to be a nightmare on this site. Previously, adding a custom font such as myriad required flattening the text as a graphic which made google unable to read it. With Cufon text replacement, I was able to add all the content as text whilst keeping it’s Myriad typeface, This along with the decorative keyword box in the background has given google plenty to pick from.

Originally from a web based background I decided to study and pursue a career in graphic design for print. I studied for 2 years and got my HND in Graphic Design and started work straight away on a catalog for a car spares company. 7 hours of cutting out springs out in Photoshop a day did drive me mad, but the cycle journey from Barnt Green to Stoke Prior across idyllic English countryside for 2 hours a day no doubt did me good.

From there I started working as a studio junior on a 1 year contract with Birmingham based Graphic Design Consultants Whitehouse Mainwaring. Learning the ropes from the experienced team at Whitehouse Mainwaring, I soon started to undertake regular design and artwork projects. After my years contract expired I was employed as a full time Graphic Designer working on a wide variety of projects for such clients as Severn Trent Water, the Arts Council and Advantage West Midlands. Taking jobs from pitch through to finished artwork, the knowledge and experienced I had gained from a further 3 years at Whitehouse Mainwairing put me in the great position to become what I’d always wanted to be – a freelance designer.

For the past 3 years, alongside my freelance career, I have been working with Communicate UK to help them on a variety of print based projects for brands such as Toby Carvery, Harvester and Ember Inns. Menus, point of sale posters, kids activity sheets, local and national advertising campaigns amongst others.

I have prepared all sorts of items for print, from business cards to catalogues and from CD packaging to building wraps.
